How do you get found for a new service you just started offering?
Start by saying it plainly on your website: what the new service is, who it is for and where you offer it. Then tell the customers you already have, because they are the quickest first buyers and the likeliest to refer you. Ask the first customers who use it for an honest review. After that, be patient: it usually takes months, not weeks, for a new service to be found by strangers.
Say it plainly on your website
A new service that is buried in a long list, or only mentioned in a social post, is easy to miss. Give it a clear place on your site, in the same words customers would use when they ask for it.
Say what the service is, who it suits, the area you cover and how to ask for it. Add it to the list of services on your homepage, too, so a visitor sees it without hunting.
Tell the customers you already have
Existing customers already trust you, so they are often the first to say yes. Mention the new service at the end of a job, on your invoices and receipts, and in a short note to past customers. Keep it to one or two lines on what it is and why you started offering it.
Also tell the people who refer work to you. A friend, supplier or partner business cannot pass on a service they do not know you offer.
Ask for the first reviews of it
Reviews that describe the new work help in two ways. They reassure the next customer, and they put the service into words on sites that people, and possibly AI assistants, read.
When a customer is happy with the new service, ask them for an honest review in their own words. Do not write it for them or offer anything in return for a good one.
Mention it wherever you are described
- Your online business profiles.
- Your social media bios and a few posts showing the work.
- Your phone greeting or voicemail, if it lists what you do.
- Your vehicle, signs or printed materials when you next update them.
Be patient, and track where it comes from
New services are rarely found by strangers right away. Early work usually comes from customers who already know you. Search and AI answers tend to catch up over several months, as your site and reviews build.
Ask each new customer how they heard about the service, and keep a simple tally. After a few months, the tally shows which of these steps is paying off.
