Is Bark worth it for finding customers?
It can be, if you judge it by jobs won rather than leads bought. Bark's help center says a customer describes the job, Bark matches the request to professionals, and you spend credits only on the leads you choose to contact, with up to five professionals able to respond to one customer. Its credits expire, and credits not used in time cannot be refunded, so start small, reply fast, record every Bark lead with its outcome, and decide after a few months of results.
How Bark says it works
Bark's help article "What is Bark and how does it work?" says a customer answers questions about what they need, Bark matches the request to professionals who fit, and each professional reviews the lead and decides whether to get in touch. It says the account is free to set up and that you spend credits only when you choose to connect with a customer.
Bark's article on credits says the number of credits a lead costs depends on the type of service and on the size and scope of the job, and that the cost is shown on the lead before you respond. Prices are left out here.
Shared requests, paid in credits
Like the sites in the related answer on buying leads from Angi or Thumbtack, Bark shares a request among several businesses. Its help center says each customer can receive up to five responses, and that you can see how many professionals have already responded before you decide to buy. It also says the sooner you respond to a lead, the less competition you face.
What is particular to Bark is that you buy credits in advance and spend them one lead at a time. As general advice, a request that several others have already answered is usually worth less to you than one nobody has answered yet.
What to check before buying credits
- When credits expire. Bark's credits article says credits bought from November 1, 2025 expire three months after purchase, and that credits not used before they expire cannot be refunded.
- What happens with a bad lead. Bark's Credit Return Policy says you can ask for the credits back when a lead does not meet its quality standards, within 14 days of buying the lead, and that all returns are at Bark's discretion.
- Any first-purchase offer. Bark's Get Hired page says that on a first Starter Pack or first app purchase, if you use the credits and are not hired, Bark returns the credits you used, once per eligible purchase and only if the conditions on that page are met.
- Which leads you will see. Bark's guide to lead preferences says you can set your area as a radius, a travel time or a shape drawn on a map, choose your services, and add filter questions for each service. Tighter settings usually waste fewer credits.
Judge it by jobs won
Tag every Bark lead with the channel paid and Bark's name in the notes, and follow each one to won, lost or still open, as the related answer on setting up a simple lead tracker describes. Copy each customer's details into your own list the day the lead arrives, and call or text only with the person's consent.
After a few months, compare the credits you spent with the jobs you won and what they were worth.
