How do you get your business on Apple Maps, and is it worth it?

Claim your location through Apple Business, the free Apple service that replaced Apple Business Connect in April 2026. Once your location is verified, you manage the place card customers see in Apple Maps: name, hours, phone, website, photos and a short description. Apple says place cards also appear in Siri, Spotlight and other Apple apps. For a business people look up or drive to, it is usually worth claiming.

Apple Business Connect is now Apple Business

Apple's listing tool used to be called Apple Business Connect. In a March 24, 2026 announcement, Apple said Business Connect and two other Apple business services would no longer be available once Apple Business launched on April 14, and that Apple Business would be a free service in the U.S. and more than 200 countries and regions. Apple's old guide now carries the heading "Apple Business Connect is now Apple Business".

Apple said existing Business Connect data, including claimed locations and photos, would move over automatically. Apple Business also covers devices and email; for Maps, what matters is brand and location management.

What the owner controls

Apple's page for businesses says to create a place card for each physical location, and lists what a card can carry:

  • Business info: brand name, location and an About section.
  • Hours and contact: phone, email addresses, website and hours, including holiday or seasonal hours.
  • Photos and your logo.
  • "Good to know" details, such as which payments you accept and whether there is Wi-Fi or parking.
  • Showcases for offers or events, and actions that let customers book, order or schedule from the card.

Where customers see it

Apple's guide says a place card appears in many Apple apps, "from Maps to Siri to Calendar, Messages, and Spotlight searches", and its insights count searches, card views and taps to get directions, visit the website or call. The related answer on whether Siri and Alexa recommend local businesses covers Siri and nearby places.

BrightLocal's 2026 Local Consumer Review Survey found Apple Maps nearly doubled in usage among review sites, from 14% in 2025 to 27%. Google is still far ahead, so a Google Business Profile usually comes first; the related answer on what a Google Business Profile is covers it.

What you do not control

Apple can edit the card too: its guide says customers can report a location that is closed when the card says open, that Apple reviews such reports and edits the card, and that it emails the business when it changes the name, status or hours, which owners can accept or contest.

Ads are separate: Apple says ads on Maps are clearly marked and available in the United States and Canada. The related answer on paid directory listings sets out a test for any paid spot.

Is it worth it?

Usually, for a business customers look up or drive to, since claiming costs nothing. Apple's page claims "Claimed businesses get 30 percent more views", which is Apple's marketing figure, not an independent study. Apple ties place cards to physical locations, so a business that only travels to customers may get less from one, though Apple's pages say a service business without a physical location can still register a brand.
